Hala February*

If you live in Kuwait, did you see the opening of "Hala February"? Did you see it live or on TV?

I have only one word to describe it: CRAPTASTIC.

*A Kuwaiti festival which was once something to look forward to. This should not concern anyone living abroad. At all.

Recap

  • Have you ever considered blogging to be a burden? As much as I used to love it, I have to say, it’s not the case anymore. It takes up SO MUCH of my time – not the blogging part, but catching up on other people’s blogs is so time consuming.
  • Has the economic condition affected your spending habits? I know it affected mine. I’m focused more on what I need rather than what I want. And as always, quality over everything.
  • How about Obama? Did you watch the live inauguration? It felt great to watch history in the making.. As cliché as that sounds..
  • Is there an easy way to lose weight? This cold weather is killing me! All I think about is food!
  • Did you see the Oscar nominations? I’m so excited! I was disappointed that some people weren’t nominated though..
  • How’s the New Year affecting you guys? Any resolutions? I don’t do resolutions, because frankly, a person can choose to change anytime. It doesn’t have to start on a specific day.
  • I WANT TO MOVE TO LONDON.

AUK CAR BOOT SALE

Hi everyone!

Tomorrow, Saturday January 10, 2009 (technically it's today), is AUK's car boot sale. It's from 9 am to 5 pm. There will be lots of junk in people's trunks. Yeah, pun intended! It will be held at the American University of Kuwait's parking lot in Salmiya. Basically it's like a garage sale/flea market.

You can also find great stuff for your home at really cheap prices. You will also find clothing and electronics. I heard some people are going to be selling food too. I didn't get to go last year, but I'm definitely going to check it out tomorrow.

It's a great idea for getting rid of stuff you no longer need, while at the same time making a little bit of money. I think we need more flea markets and garage or yard sales in Kuwait. And I don't mean the weekly Friday Market (Soog il yim3a).

I will be on the hunt for some great bargains tomorrow.. and some yummy food too!

See ya!

*Oh and I know you've all been dying without my thought provoking and entertaining blog posts, but my computer is still sick :(
